From 30th June 2007 Sealwood and other online retailers using PROTX are required to put in place 3D Secure Authentication for all VISA and MasterCard transactions (including Maestro). This is the latest fraud prevention initiative to make online card transactions more secure.
In practice what this means for customers is that they will confirm their Sealwood order in the normal way. During the PROTX payment part of the process you will be asked to register your card with 3D Secure, if you have not already done so previously through another online purchase. This will either be through 'Verified by VISA' or 'MasterCard Secure Code'. It involves a few prescribed steps initially which are explained to you as you complete the 3D Secure Authentication process.
Once registered for 3D Secure, then for any future online transactions you make with Sealwood or other businesses, you will be redirected to the Verified by VISA or MasterCard Secure Code websites to enter your password for authorisation, before being able to complete your transcation.
